I’ve been in the middle of a crisis recently. It hasn't been a very fun experience. It’s been humbling, humiliating, and downright heartbreaking. But I’ve been learning as I am going through it. I’ve been learning about my attitude and how not to allow someone else's attitude to affect my own.
I’m a bit worn out from the whole experience and that’s why I haven’t been around much. Funny, just before this all happened I was writing about priorities. My priorities are quite clear to me now and it has been easy to see what has been neglected.
I’m working on that, with God’s help.
I’ve been reading through the book of Philippians this past week. Interestingly, I was in church yesterday and the pastor taught from that very book. Here is what stood out to me yesterday:
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Phil 2.3-4
This is NOT something the world teaches you at all. It’s something that is so easy to forget when you are wrapped up in the cares of the world…the “me, me, me” of it all.
:::sigh:::
